
Senior Officers and Directors
Irwin A. Olian, Jr. – Chief Executive Officer, President, Chairman and Director (Age 57)
Pursuant to an agreement dated June 1, 2005, Mr. Olian agreed to act, as an independent contractor, as the President,
Chief Executive Officer, Director and Chairman of the Company for a 31 month term commencing June 1, 2005 until
December 31, 2007. Mr. Olian is an entrepreneur with a strong background in finance and law. Since February 28, 2003,
Mr. Olian has served as the Chief Executive Officer, President and a Director of Pan African Mining Corp., a
resource company listed on the Exchange. During the past six years, he has developed a business as a self-employed private
investment banker and business consultant to emerging companies, in diverse fields ranging from biotechnology to high
technology. His clients have included NASDAQ companies. In addition, he has been serving as chief executive officer
of Famous Entertainment, Ltd., a privately-held independent motion picture company. Mr. Olian was a co-founder and
principal shareholder of North American Scientific, Inc., a Los Angeles based manufacturer of radioisotope products
for the medical industry, including seeds implanted for the treatment of prostate cancer. NASI has grown from a startup
to a successful NASDAQ company. Mr. Olian's prior finance experience includes a position as Senior Vice President,
Investments, with Sutro & Co. Inc., a long-established investment banking and brokerage firm in San Francisco.
He also served as Vice President of Bear Stearns & Co. Inc. Mr. Olian's legal experience includes a position as a
Senior Attorney for Warner Bros. Inc. at Burbank Studios for five years, a position as a business affairs executive
with a talent agency, International Creative Management, and positions as a corporate attorney
with Wyman, Bautzer, Rothman & Kuchel in Los Angeles, and Pillsbury, Madison & Sutro in San Francisco. He
graduated from Princeton University with an A.B. in Economics and received his law degree from Harvard Law School.
Mr. Olian devotes approximately 50% of his time toward the Company's affairs. In his employment agreement, Mr. Olian has agreed not to render services for other public companies involved in mining in South America without the express written approval of the board of the Company. He has not entered into a non-competition or a non-disclosure agreement with the Company.
Limor Rubin, CA - Chief Financial Officer, Director
Ms. Rubin is a Chartered Accountant (Canada), a Certified Public Accountant
(Israel) and holds a Bachelor in Accounting and Economics from Tel-Aviv
University. In addition to experience in the mining industry, Ms. Rubin has
experience with the financial services industry, mutual funds, insurance,
real estate as well as the public sector.
Prior to joining the Company and Sacre-Coeur, Ms. Rubin served for 11 years
in public accounting practice. She served as Accounting Manager for KPMG and
as a Senior Accountant with both KPMG and Ernst & Young. Ms. Rubin is a
member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of British Columbia.
Ardito Martohardjono – Director (Age 40)
Mr. Martohardjono has 15 years of experience in the mineral exploration service industry, focusing on
sample preparation as a lab technician and supervisor with two geochemical laboratories in Canada and the United
States. From 1999 to 2001 he served as Sample Preparation Supervisor for Bondar Clegg Canada Ltd. in Vancouver
and Branch Manager of Bondar Clegg's Fairbanks, Alaska laboratory, as well as Prep Client Services Office
Coordinator for ALS Chemex in Vancouver from 1997 to 1999. Briefly in 2004 Mr. Martohardjono also acted as
Interim Branch Manager in Fairbanks, Alaska for ALS Chemex. Among his many responsibilities was ensuring
compliance with laboratory's ISO quality assurance program. Currently Mr. Martohardjono serves as Vice President
of Laboratory Services and a Director of Pan African Mining Corp., a resource company listed on the Exchange.
W. Benjamin Catalano – Director (Age 41)
Mr. Catalano has been a real estate agent with The Sutton Group since 1991. Since March 31, 2004, Mr. Catalano has
served as a Director of Pan African Mining Corp., a resource company listed on the Exchange. Mr. Catalano devotes
approximately 10% of his time toward the Company's affairs.
His service agreement includes non-disclosure provisions. However, he has not entered into a non-competition with the Company.
Gregory Sparks – Senior Vice President, Mining and Exploration, Director (Age 55)
Greg has been the
Principal of GBS PC, a minerals industry consulting firm since 1994. Since March 31, 2004, Mr. Sparks has served as
a Director of Pan African Mining Corp., a resource company listed on the Exchange. From May 2002 until December 2005
he has also managed Genex Construction, LLC, a heavy civil contracting firm. Greg was formerly a Development Group Vice
President for Echo Bay Mines from 1985 to 1993. Greg is a senior mining executive with over thirty years experience in
the minerals industry embracing exploration, feasibility, development and operation of both surface and underground mining
projects.
Greg has experience with a variety of mineral commodities including: gold, silver, lead, copper, zinc, uranium/thorium, coal and industrial minerals. He has developed and managed exploration and subsequent feasibility studies for all of these commodities. His effectiveness in exploring for and evaluating deposits is enhanced by many years of operational experience developing and managing producing surface and underground mines.
Greg has held senior and executive positions in mining and exploration companies and in engineering firms and contractors which specialize in services to the minerals industry. He has been employed by and/or consulted for many well known North American mining and mining service companies, including Dravo, Consol, Tenneco Oil Company, Canadian Mines Services, Echo Bay Mines, Homestake, and Coeur d Alene Mines Corp, as well as numerous mid-cap and developing mining companies. Greg's mining experience is international, including assignments in Canada, the US (including two major projects in Alaska), Guyana, Venezuela, Chile, Australia, Mexico, Madagascar, and several EU countries. He has worked for over 13 years in the Guyana Shield. He has served as a senior officer and director for several North American companies, and is also currently a director of Pan African Mining Corp. Greg completed a B.Sc. in mining engineering plus graduate level course work at Missouri School of Mines in 1973. He has been a registered Professional Mining Engineer for over 20 years.
Mr. Sparks devotes his full time toward the Company's affairs. In his employment agreement, Mr. Sparks has agreed not to render services for others without the express written approval of the board of the Company. However, his contract acknowledges that he is a Director of Pan African Mining Corp. and as such is entitled to render technical advice and otherwise perform his duties thereunder without being in breach of this provision. He has entered into a non-disclosure agreement with the Company.
Dr. Edward A. Schiller, P.Geol., Director
Pursuant to an agreement dated July 18, 2005, Dr. Schiller has agreed to act, as an independent contractor, as a Senior Geological Consultant for the Company for a term commencing July 18, 2005 and continuing through December 31, 2006. Dr. Schiller brings over 30 years of experience in mineral exploration, project management, acquisitions, financing, joint venture negotiations and corporate governance to the Company. Born and raised in Winnipeg, Manitoba, he graduated with a degree in geology from Michigan State University in 1956, and obtained his Ph.D. in mineralogy at the University of Utah in 1963. Dr. Schiller was the Resident Geologist of the Northwest Territories Geological Survey of Canada from 1964 – 1966. He has lived and worked in Canada, the United States, England, Australia, Brazil and African and South East Asian countries, including Madagascar. Dr. Schiller has consulted for the United Nations on a gemstone project in Mozambique and a mining project in Greece. He has visited other countries on mining related projects, including Vietnam, Botswana and diamond mines in Yakutia, Russia and China. Dr. Schiller is a former director of Dia Met Minerals Ltd., and is best known for supervising the drilling which led to the discovery of the first diamond-bearing kimberlite at Pointe Lake in 1991 (now part of the Ekati Mine production). He has written extensively on the Lac de Gras diamond discoveries and has presented several papers on this subject at national and international meetings. Dr. Schiller writes for several Canadian and international magazines on mining and mineral exploration and maintains a consulting practice.
Geological Team
Dr. Hendrikus M. Aarden
Dr. Aarden is also a director of the wholly-owned Guyana subsidiary of the Company, Sacre-Coeur Guyana, Inc.
For the period 1997 – 2000, Dr. Aarden served on a contract basis as Chief Geologist for Heritage Mines, Ltd. for its programs
in Guyana, South America. Since that time, he has continued to serve various junior and mid-cap mining clients as a senior
exploration consultant for programs in the Guiana Shield region of South America. Dr. Hendrikus ("Dick") Aarden has over 30
years of experience in geologic exploration and resource development projects. More than 25 years of this time was spent working
on the Guiana Shield in the Northern South American countries of Venezuela and Guyana in tropically weathered geologic environments.
In Venezuela, Dick worked with the Ministerio de Energía y Minas as a research geologist on projects involving rare earth elements,
base metals and precious metals. He later became Head of the Analytical Chemistry Division at the Ministry supervising some 20 chemists,
geologists and technicians and a founding team member of their new laboratories in Caracas. Following his tenure with the Venezuelan
Ministry of Energy and Mines, Dick worked as Chief Geologist at the state owned Colombia gold mine. Since that time he has managed
field exploration programs for numerous mid-cap and junior exploration companies in Guyana and Venezuela. His long exposure to the
Precambrian Shield and work in a tropically weathered environment has uniquely qualified Dick among a select few who have the
requisite experience to effectively explore in the difficult (geologically and logistically) environment of the rich gold belt of
the Guiana Shield. Dick is currently under contract with the Company and has been active in performing work on the Million Mountain
project as well as due diligence on its portfolio of properties in connection with its pending initial public offering.
Dick earned B.Sc. (1964) and Ph.D. (1969) degrees from the University of Toronto in geology, mineralogy and analytical chemistry.
Dr. Aarden devotes his full-time toward the Company's affairs. In his employment agreement, Dr. Aarden has agreed not to render services for others without the express written approval of the board of the Company. He has entered into a non-disclosure agreement with the Company.
