Northwest Regional Block

SC MINERALS NORTHWEST PORTFOLIO HOLDS EXCELLENT MINERAL POTENTIAL

The Company currently holds 450 sq km of highly prospective mineral concessions located in the Northwest Mining District. In 2008, the Company conducted an intensive reconnaissance program, which included soil geochemical surveys, trenching, and scout drilling on its Northwest holdings, which at that time included a total of 921 sq km. In early 2009, the Company relinquished 471 sq km of its original Northwest holdings to focus on the remaining properties which it believes are the most highly prospective. The 450 sq km, mostly contiguous block of properties comprise roughly the Eastern half of the historic Arakaka District. The non-contiguous blocks held by the Company in Northwest consist of small insular in-holds within the Western half of the Arakaka District. The Arakaka District has recorded gold production since the late 1900's, generally associated with high grade quartz veining, often showing bonanza type grades. This area has recently been subject of intense artisanal mining activities mostly with the use of excavators and sluices, with the addition of a crude hammer mills to process heavily weathered primary quartz veins.

Scout drilling was performed in late 2008 to test the numerous high probability targets identified by extensive field work and trenching earlier in the year, including areas which yielded trench results of 12.0 meters grading 7.90 g/t Au, and another project area yielding 4.1 meters grading 6.90 g/t Au, as reported earlier. These targets and others to be tested by this drilling program lie along the well-defined Arakaka trend, which is characterized by well mineralized sheeted veins intruded into schist. The veins are intruded along the planes of schistosity and typically form concentrated packages of multiple veins dipping at shallow angles situated very near surface in the areas targeted.

On February 26, 2008 the Company reported that results from its trenching and test pitting program conducted on a portion of its Northwest Project area in Guyana continued to expand and demonstrate continuity of the zone of near surface high-grade gold mineralization. Test pit NWHTP yielded 12 meters averaging 7.90 g/t Au, which include a vein with true width of 0.8 meters grading 21.41 g/t Au hosted in mineralized country rock. Previously reported results from its trenching program recently conducted on a portion of its Northwest Project area in Guyana confirmed the high grade soil sampling reported by the Company in September 2007. Trench NW TR 19A yielded 12 meters averaging 7.00 g/t Au, which include a vein with true width of 0.8 meters grading 188.92 g/tAu hosted in mineralized country rock.

Location and Access

Access to most areas of the Northwest regional block is good. There is an airstrip located at Port Kaituma near the properties. All-weather roads developed by a major logging operation provide vehicle access to the various districts within the Northwest regional block. Branch roads for the use of tractors, 4x4 trucks and ATVs provide local access. Heavy equipment can be transported by tug and barge to Port Kaituma on the Kaituma River and then transported over the road to various work sites. (See Figure 4)

UPDATE ON NORTHWEST PROJECT

The initial targeted areas programmed for drilling on the Northwest Project were the 19 Mile and Wallabaka prospect and drilling activities and preliminary results from those areas are presented:

19 Mile Prospect

Evaluation of the epithermal gold potential suggested depths generally less than 50 meters below surface at the 19 Mile Prospect.  Other geologic work identified several deep-seated mesothermal gold targets.  Investigation of the deeper targets was deferred during this period of economic down-turn while the Company focused on further expansion of resources on its more advanced Million Mountain Project.

Wallabaka Prospect

The Waratabaka Prospecting License is directly within the 30km northeast trending Arakaka Trend. Within this highly mineralized corridor are some of the most prolific gold mining sites in the Northwest Region.

On-going exploration of the Company´s Northwest projects was suspended in deference to its more advanced project in the Lower Puruni Regional Block.  However, in the context of the Company´s revised business model, focused in internally generated working capital through exploitation of alluvial/elluvial deposits on its properties, the Company plans to review opportunities for expanding its operations to include work on its Northwest block of properties.  In addition, the Company plans exploration efforts aimed at identifying additional small to medium scale, shallow bodies of gold mineralization hosted in saprolite for potential rapid development of small mine(s) on its Northwest holdings, in addition to similar efforts on its Lower Puruni block.
