SACRE-COEUR MINERALS COMMENCES DRILLING KEY TARGETS AT NORTHWEST GOLD PROJECT
Two core drills began drilling priority targets identified in July on its more than 450 square mile holdings at its Northwest Gold Project located in the Northwest Region of Guyana. Drilling tasks are being shared between one of the Company’s new CT14 track-mounted core drills operated by the Company’s drilling crews and one KID Series II modular core drill provided and operated by Energold under contract to the Company.
Both drills are operating around the clock seven days per week to test the numerous high probability targets identified by extensive field work and trenching over the past year, including areas which yielded trench results of 12.0 meters grading 7.90 g/t Au, and another project area yielding 4.1 meters grading 6.90 g/t Au, as reported earlier. These targets and others to be tested by this drilling program lie along the well defined Arakaka trend, which is characterized by well mineralized sheeted veins intruded into schist. The veins are intruded along the planes of schistosity and typically form concentrated packages of multiple veins dipping at shallow angles situated very near surface in the areas targeted.
On February 26, 2008 the Company reported that further results from its trenching and test pitting program recently conducted on a portion of its Northwest Project area in Guyana continue to expand and demonstrate continuity of the zone of near surface high-grade gold mineralization. Test pit NWHTP yielded 12 meters averaging 7.90 g/t Au, which include a vein with true width of 0.8 meters grading 21.41 g/t Au hosted in mineralized country rock. Previously reported results from its trenching program recently conducted on a portion of its Northwest Project area in Guyana confirmed the high grade soil sampling reported by the Company in September 2007. Trench NW TR 19A yielded 12 meters averaging 7.00 g/t Au, which include a vein with true width of 0.8 meters grading 188.92 g/tAu hosted in mineralized country rock.

Overview
In the Northwest Mining District, Sacre-Coeur holds a total of 225 medium scale prospecting permits comprising a total area of 355.7 sq mi. These properties are located in several historic gold producing areas. The table below describes the Company’s gold properties in the Northwest regional block.
| Historic District | Number of Permits | Total Sq Mi |
|---|---|---|
| Kaituma Goldfield | 96 | 151.7 |
| Mazawini Goldfield | 18 | 28.5 |
| Five Star Goldfield | 14 | 22.1 |
| Manikuru Creek | 60 | 94.9 |
| Perseverance-Munosse Creek | 37 | 58.5 |
These areas have recorded gold production since the late 1900’s as well, generally associated with highgrade quartz veining, often showing bonanza type grades. This area has recently been subject of intense artisanal mining activities mostly with the use of excavators and sluices, with the addition of a crude hammer mill to process heavily weathered primary quartz veins.
Location and Access
Access to most areas of the Northwest regional block is good. There is an airstrip located at Port Kaituma near the properties. All-weather roads developed by a major logging operation provide vehicle access to the various districts within the Northwest regional block. Branch roads for the use of tractors, 4x4 trucks and ATVs provide local access. Heavy equipment can be transported by tug and barge to Port Kaituma on the Kaituma River and then transported over the road to various work sites. (See Figure 4)
Historic and Current Gold Mining Activities
The Northwest regional block is known as an important area for historic gold mining activities since the early 1900’s. Virtually all areas described above within this regional block have hosted significant historic and current gold mining activities, including the Kaituma Goldfield, Mazawini Goldfield, Five Star Goldfield, Manikuru Creek and Perseverance-Munosse Creek. Historic mining has been principally underground mining of high grade gold quartz veins. Only limited manual historic placer mining has been conducted on the Northwest regional block, largely due to inaccessibility until recently when roads were opened by the logging operations . Improved access to the Northwest area of Guyana has resulted in a recent gold rush, consisting of both alluvial gold operations as well as a number of primary gold operations. Over twenty-five alluvial gold operations, mostly consisting of excavator and land dredging operations, are presently producing significant quantities of gold from the Northwest area. In addition, several small scale, underground primary gold mining operations are being developed or are in production.
Primary Gold Potential
The potential for large scale gold deposits in the Northwest regional block held by the Company remains virtually untested. As noted above, virtually all districts within the Company’s Northwest regional block have hosted significant historic gold mining. This along with current alluvial and primary gold mining activities on adjoining blocks make the Northwest regional block prospective for primary gold deposits of economic dimensions.
Recent Geological Activities
Australian major, BHP, recently conducted a reconnaissance exploration program over much of the Northwestern portion of Guyana, including aeromagnetic surveys, stream sediment sampling (BLEG) and soil. Much of this data is available through the GGMC. The GGMC has also completed limited geological mapping, stream sediment sampling and rock sampling for BLEG and ICP analysis, petrographic analysis and interpretation of results over portions of the Company’s Northwest regional block. This data is also available. StrataGold Corporation is presently conducting a diamond drilling program on its Tassawini Project located nearby to the east of the Company’s Northwest regional block. StrataGold has publicly reported numerous intercepts of economic width and gold grade from their drilling program.
